Gaving Tweeplemeeter.com a try.
Was suitably dubious myself, but I guess trying had some effect as I nearly doubled the number of followers overnight. That said, I managed to pick up about 20 followers on my main Twitter and that’s wholly passive and doubling a small number is blinding easy in Twitter. Maybe a weekend thing. Worked up to a point but you really need to take all MLM* / pyramid things thing, to be taken with a large pinch of salt. (*Multi-LevelMarketing)
Hummingbird:
Loath to lash out $197 for this myself as I’m a scrooge, but I can see this being easy to make money with for some – and see it get spammed like crazy to Twitterers by affiliates. It doesn’t actually do anything I can’t do manually and better than it, but it can do it vastly faster. John Chow did a good review of it. You can read it here: Hummingbird professional marketing tool for twitter. His explanation gave me a few insights and ideas. Whether I’d buy it is another matter, too close to automated scraping for my liking.
Still: “JohnChow @milliontwits The best feature is it remembers who you unfollow so you don’t follow them again. Try doing that manually.
